Through our extensive employee safety training programs at our Progress Institute, we develop safety-driven teams that provide the best traffic control experience for our customers — and the highest level of protection for road crews and the traveling public.

Going Beyond Standard Safety Requirements

At Traffic Plan, we hold ourselves to a higher level of safety and accountability. It’s why we have one of the highest ratios of field managers to crew members in the business. It’s also why our Progress Institute training goes beyond standard ATSSA requirements to include:

  • Annual in-service safety meetings
  • ATSSA certification: Standard Basic Flagging
  • Intermediate VDOT work zone traffic control (specific to VA)
  • TMA driving standards and nomenclature
  • Advanced Technician training
  • Advanced Crew Chief training
  • Advanced highway training, including Publication 213 (specific to PA)

Our Progress Institute instructors are the most qualified professionals you could have on the job. With decades of experience in federal, state, and local law enforcement and training, we know everything there is to know about traffic safety, roadway construction, motor vehicle enforcement, and the regulations that need to be followed. Through classroom and hands-on training, our knowledge is passed on to every one of our employees.

Traffic Plan Learning Institute

The latest addition to the Progress Institute is our state-of-the-art training facility in King of Prussia, PA. This innovative complex features classrooms for instructional training, and field environments where hands-on training happens. TMA Driver Training, Work Zone Setup Training, and Specialty Equipment Operations Training are just
a few of the programs currently underway, with more to come.
